Lodi (or Lodhi) Gardens is a large public park in the centre of New Delhi and was previously also known as Lady Willingdon Park. Within the gardens are the tombs of several rulers of the Sayyid and Lodi dynasties, dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, and the Bara Gumbad mosque which was built in 1494. The gardens are well maintained and include artificial streams, ponds and rich birdlife. It is popular with families as well as joggers and walkers, particularly in the mornings and evenings. Entry is free and the gardens are open daily to the public.
