Kivenlahti Rock (Espoo, Finland)

Kivenlahti Rock is a rockfestival taking place in the city of Espoo, just 20 kilometers from Helsinki. The festival is medium size, which gives it a special atmosphere compared with the biggest festivals in Finland. The festival area is located on the coast, so beautiful scenery can be guaranteed. The area is easy to reach from Helsinki, while many buses have stops right next to the festival area. There are also accomondation possibilities in Espoo. In the recent years Kivenlahti Rock has been known as the beginning of the festival summer in Finland. In 2009 most popular international bands in Kivenlahti Rock were Cradle of Fifth (UK), Backyard Babies (SWE) and D-A-D (DEN). Besides these, many popular Finnish bands performed during the three days. Bands like Apulanta, Amorphis, Von Hertzen Brothers and Diablo gathered big audiances. In 2009 the festival had about 11 000 guests.
