You'll be superbly situated within walking distance of all the favourites of Helsinki, and the handy underground parking on-site is plentiful and affordably priced. Easy access from the car park to the service lift brings guests directly to their rooms. The historic building within which breakfast is served is quite lovely and popular with the locals as well as guests. The bar downstairs has a relaxing atmosphere and a wide assortment of whiskeys for the connoisseur. Stock your mini-fridge from the grocery store two minutes' walk away.

Request a room with a full harbour view and you won't be sorry. These panoramic visions are well worth the extra cost! Cosy beds with plenty of extra pillows, fancy stationery at the desk and a real flowering orchid plant in the room are a few of the lovely touches. All rooms are stocked with Elemis toiletries which are exquisite as well.

The reception staff are courteous and well-informed on the area's attractions, always willing to help out with a map, directions or suggestions.

Although there are double-glazed windows and good thick walls, you'll probably hear some noise at night if your room faces the street. Ask for a room facing the opposite side or try some ear plugs.

The mini bar is beautifully well-stocked with goodies - but watch out! Don't grab for any of the mini bar treats until you know how much each item costs. Extras can add up to a substantial bill at the end of one's stay if you aren't careful.

Furniture and flooring could use a prompt upgrade and the wooden parquet is rubbery and squeaks with each footstep.
