Cleopatra’s Beach in Alanya is so called because it is said that Cleopatra and Mark Anthony visited here on numerous occasions and fell in love with the place. It is one of the most popular beaches in the region and a range of different water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing are available on the beach, whilst the clear waters make it a popular destination for snorkellers. The area is locally famous for its scarlet starfish, huge sea sponges and octopus. Cleopatra’s Beach is approximately 2 kilometres long and is located to the west of the resort of Alanya. It is well served by local transport. Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers and numerous stalls selling drinks and food. Cafe’s, bars and restaurants can be found on the promenade that runs parallel to the beach.
