The Archaeological Museum opened in 1965 and displays exhibits of Corfu’s history. The two main exhibits are the Gorgon Pediment and the Menekrates Lion. The Gorgon Pediment is part of the Artemis Temple and the Menekrates Lion is a crouching lion statue found in a tomb not far from Corfu Town. The museum is open at the following times: 8.30am to 3.00pm Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am to 2.30pm Sunday It is closed on Monday
