The hotel is right on the waterfront, and the front facing rooms were said to have great views over the sea. But even if guests were in a room without a view, they could still go up to the rooftop bar and enjoy the view, and a drink, from up there.
It was mentioned that there was a bus that passed the hotel that went straight in to Corfu. Those without cars found it very useful, and it helped them avoid expensive taxi fares.
While many guests mentioned that the staff were very welcoming on arrival, and friendly during heir stay, what most seemed to impress them was the way they dealt with special requests.
Guests seemed almost disappointed to report this, since they really seemed to like the location and outlook. But the fact is that the hotel is situated right under the approach path to the airport, and so gets a lot of noise from the jets bringing people to Corfu.
Many guests mentioned that the décor throughout the hotel, in both the rooms and the public areas, was in style…several decades ago. They felt strongly that the hotel would be able to make a lot more of its great views and position if it had a full update and renovation.
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guest after guest mentioned that the rooms were simply too small, with space for the bed and not much else, even their luggage. The bathrooms came in for especially harsh criticism, with many saying they were too small to use comfortably.
