Situated a bit away from the lakeshore, near Como Camerlata Station, Mini Baradello Hotel offers basic budget accommodation to guests who would rather spend their money on activities than expensive hotels. The rooms are basic and very simply furnished. Each features en-suite bathroom with hairdryer and bath products, satellite TV, work desk and telephone. There is a guest lounge by the lobby for guests to relax in. The public areas are air conditioned, and there is parking available nearby. Reception is open limited hours and can assist with local information. A buffet breakfast is available every morning, and for the rest of the day snacks and drinks can be had from the bar. The shore of Lake Como, from where lake ferries can be boarded, is 2.7 miles away, and can be reached by train. The nearest station, Como Camerlata, is just 800 yards from Mini Hotel Baradello.
Guests did seem to have a number of issues with the hotel and its rooms, but room size certainly wasn't one of them. Guests were unanimous in saying that the rooms were a very decent size, and more than big enough for the size group booked in.
Guests found that, while their rooms were incredibly basic, they were actually pretty clean when they checked in. They certainly didn't feel like they needed to do a bit of room cleaning themselves before feeling comfortable there.
While guests didn't rave about the hotel itself, some said that if all you planned to be out exploring all day it was actually a good deal. You'd get a basic, but clean, room at a very low rate for Como.
Strangely, this was mentioned a couple of times. Its not clear if non-smoking rooms are available, but guests said that their room smelled of smoke whatever their preference. Those who have a strong dislike of cigarette smoke may not be happy here.
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guests felt a bit like they had been captured by a monastic order and put in their most spartan accommodation as part of an initiation. To the guests the rooms simply didn't have anything to catch the eye, and had limited amenities as well
Though it didn't seem to affect too many guests, some did mention that the hotel's location on a main road meant that they could be disturbed by street noise when they were trying to sleep, especially in the mornings.
