The downstairs pub includes a pool table and dart board and live music is played on weekends. A hot breakfast is served and meals are available in the Wellington pub. Guests can find additional restaurants and bars, such as the popular Black Bull, within an easy walk of the hotel. The Wellington Hotel offers a budget friendly base for exploring the ancient town of Dalton-In-Furness and the scenic Cumbria region. Attractions such as the South Lakes Safari Zoo and 14th century Dalton Castle are just a short drive and nearby Moorecambe Bay offers plenty of fun for the bucket and spade brigade.

The most recent reviews for this hotel are several months old and many are negative, but some guests were reasonably satisfied with their experience and reported that the Wellington offered acceptable accommodations at a very reasonable price. Satisfied guests described the rooms as clean, tidy and comfortable, some said the rooms looked freshly decorated while others summed them up as fine for a night or two.
With live music and a friendly vibe, the Wellington's pub got a thumbs up from guests who preferred the traditional atmosphere over more modern chain style establishments.
For guests travelling with families, the Wellington, on Dalton's main street and close to shops and restaurants, served as a convenient and economical base from which to explore Cumbria and visit nearby attractions.
While guests generally appreciated the affordable cost of this establishment, some found the upkeep sufficiently poor that they would not return or recommend it. Complaints included torn curtains, uncomfortable beds with sagging mattresses, shabby and dated furniture and an overall air of neglect.
Noise from the live entertainment in the pub downstairs kept many guests in the rooms above from enjoying a good night's sleep.
