Positive Reviews

positive:

Fabulous food

Guests rate the breakfast at the Queen's Head highly, with more than one describing it as “top notch”. You can also expect lunch or dinner to be an enjoyable affair. You won't find fine dining here but guests find the pub food menu to be unpretentious and delicious.

positive:

Bring your pooch

Given the rural surroundings, it will probably come as little surprise to hear that this hotel is a hit with dog owners. Those wide open spaces and ample fresh air certainly hold plenty of appeal for four-legged friends. Guests report that the staff welcomes dogs warmly - and even offer them their own breakfast!

positive:

Nice atmosphere

Guests like the atmosphere at the Queen's Head as friendly and welcoming. It seems to be very much an area favourite where local people and guests can mingle and enjoy a drink and a game of darts.

Negative Reviews

negative:

Patio garden can be noisy

Rooms overlook the pub's patio beer garden so you can reasonably expect there to be some noise from this area, particularly over the summer months. If you don't plan on joining in, this might be a concern.

negative:

Pricey drinks menu

Several guests mention that they found the drinks a little costly, with some describing the prices as what you might expect to find in an upmarket London pub.

negative:

Limited Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is not available in the guest rooms so if you need to get online without using up your mobile data, you'll need to head into the pub. Even in the pub, a number of guests found the signal was fairly weak. This is perhaps to be expected given the rural setting.
