Burcombe Manor's guest rooms are spacious, clean and well-appointed. The beds are large and comfortable and the linens and towels are soft.

From the moment you enter the beautiful front hallway of this historic home you are set back in time. Original woodwork, windows, cornices and large doorways herald you back to a gentler time with their stunning ambiance. Sitting on the overly large living room with fireplace and extensive views of the well-manicured grounds makes you feel almost like royalty.

The knowledgeable, warm staff is wonderful. They have extensive knowledge about the house and surrounding area, including the best places to dine and shop as well as which of the most popular sites you should visit first.

Although there are only three guest rooms here, one of them does not have an en suite bathroom and you must leave your room to use the facilities. This could be problematic for those who like their privacy.

Burcombe Manor is set off by itself on a dark road and it may be difficult to find if you are visiting for the first time. Best to try and get there before the sun sets for as, although you will find the place eventually, it might take a bit longer after dark through!

Breakfast is served until 9:00 am only and after that, you are on your own. This could be a bit of a drag for those who want to sleep in a bit while on holiday and then have to get up and go out in search of their first meal of the day..
