The Lawn Guest House is a family-run two-star hotel with 12 rooms located in Maidenhead. It is only a five-minute walk from the Maidenhead town centre. The hotel has family rooms and suites. Rooms are provided with flat screen LCD television, hospitality trays, coffee/tea making facilities and biscuits. En suite bathrooms have Aqua Viva toiletries. High ceilings and sofa beds have been added in family rooms. A 400 Mbps Fiber Optic Wi-Fi and off-street parking are complimentary. There is a lounge area where guests can relax, read and chat. The Lawn Guest House is 25 minutes’ drive to Heathrow Airport and 20 minutes’ drive to Maidenhead railway station.
Guests found the location of the hotel very convenient as it is close to the Heathrow Airport and the railway station too. It made it very easy for guests who were en route Heathrow and also for those who wanted to roam around the place. An Indian restaurant and a pub round the corner were loved by most of the guests.
Rooms were large, refurbished and the decor was done simply yet tastefully. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and had the rainfall shower with toiletries. Guests were pleasantly surprised with the good Wi-Fi connection which enabled them to work without any glitches.
English breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. The off street parking is an adequate and safe parking option for the guests. Overall, the guests felt that the hotel is a good value for money.
Some of the guests had a lot of difficulty bathing as the water pressure in the showers was very slow. It was as good as a trickle. Hook on the back of the door in the bathroom was hanging off and water poured out on the use of the shower.
There was a lot of noise on the street across which disturbed the guests all through the night. It was so noisy that they could not even work.
Few guests who came in late had a lot of difficulty in finding the hotel as the sign was not illuminated. They felt that illuminated signs would make their job of finding the hotel easier.
