Hotel Kingswood (Maidenhead, United Kingdom)

This hotel is located above Gandhi Restaurant which serves superb Indian cuisine. They use only the freshest ingredients and the service is as good as the food.

Despite the fact that Kingswood is located quite close to the A4, it is quiet here. You are sure to get a good night’s sleep, even though the road in front of the hotel is well-trafficked, because you are still five miles from the centre of Maidenhead where most of the action is.

This is a non-smoking hotel which is great if you don’t imbibe and like your room to smell fresh and not like stale, acrid, second-hand smoke.

This hotel has no lift and the stairs are rather steep. So if you have low mobility, lots of luggage or small children in tow, you might want to ask for a ground floor room when you book.

The guest rooms at Kingswood are a bit small, which includes a lack of headroom in the showers. If you are travelling with more than one person, are tall or need extra room to maneuver, this is something to be aware of.

There’s nothing like the smell of curry and, unfortunately, because of the Indian restaurant which occupies the ground floor of this hotel, it permeates the entire property. If this is smell you enjoy, then it won’t bother you. But if you can’t stand the clingy aroma, this is something to be aware of before booking.
