Hotel The Globe Inn is a three-star inn situated in heart of the West Country of Chagford, United Kingdom. It overlooks the ancient parish church of St Michael. There are five rooms; four doubles, two family and one twin room that have been done up beautifully in the traditional country way. Recently refurbished, rooms have televisions. Bathrooms are provided with towels and complimentary toiletries. All the rooms except for one overlook the magnificent surrounding countryside. Pets are allowed on applicable charges. There is a public parking space just 5o yards away from the inn. Wi-Fi connection is complimentary. Guests can order packed lunches too. Breakfast is made to order. The onsite restaurant offers tasty food with a good menu which also includes daily specials. Guests can enjoy a good collection of wines and ales. Hotel The Globe Inn is close to the Dartmoor National Park and A30 is ten minutes’ drive away.
Most of the guests were in awe of the hospitality rendered by the owners of the inn and other staff members. They went out of their way to lend a helping hand to the guests at any hour of the day. Staff members were very accommodating and welcoming.
The inn is located on the main high street right opposite a beautiful church. Guests felt very close to nature as the inn is surrounded by the Dartmoor National Park. There are many shops, bakers and a hardware store nearby.
Many guests loved the food served here in the pub. Honey/cinnamon cheesecakes and cherry pie were top favorite dessert amongst the guests. All the ingredients used for food preparation are seasonal and locally produced, which adds on to the taste of the dishes. The bar offers a nice selection of ales like the bitter Otter Ale. Guests loved the warm atmosphere of the pub too.
Few guests felt that the beds were very uncomfortable. It was very firm and sagging from the centre, which made it very difficult for the guests to have a sound sleep. Pillows were very thin.
Many guests found it very difficult to climb a flight of stairs to reach the top floors as there were no elevators. The lighting in the room was not enough to read.
The patchy Wi-Fi connection was very disappointing for majority of the guests. The shower was slightly tricky to operate.
