Situated around a hill , towering over the town, the 80-acre zoo is home to thousands of animals and plants from all climate zones of the earth. Divided into 6 zones, the zoo takes great care to provide each of its inhabitants with a surrounding as natural as possible. The botanical gardens at Paignton Zoo are designed to enhance these habitat zones and the newer additions include a Mexican oak species collection, an economic plant garden and a medicinal garden for the Vet Centre. As further amenities the Zoo has a restaurant that can also be rented for functions,Take away & Cafe, Bar and a shop. Wheelchair access to most of the park is possible. Opening times: 10 am to 4.30 pm during the winter months (closed over Christmas) 10 am to 6.00 pm in summer
