Hotel The Browns (Carmarthen, United Kingdom)

With exposed beams and stone floors, this little hotel absolutely oozes character. Each unit here is decorated slightly differently, but all feature quality linens, a roll-top bath and a quality hospitality tray stocked with excellent teas and coffees as well as homemade biscuits. Despite the Old World feel of the rooms, guests were extremely happy to find that all mod cons were available.

If past guest reviews are anything to go by, the breakfasts here are absolutely outstanding. This is the most important meal of the day, and guests loved that their breakfasts were prepared using quality local produce. This was a nice touch that was very much appreciated.

The check-in process here is very swift and efficient. Many guests also commented that the service they received was attentive and thoughtful without being intrusive or overbearing.

While breakfast was very highly commended, guests were disappointed to find that this property served evening meals only on certain nights of the week and even then, options were limited only to pizza. For a number of hungry and dismayed visitors, this meant having to leave the comfort of this very cozy hotel in order to find something to eat.

While the roll-top baths added a rather romantic feel to the rooms at this hotel, a number of visitors commented that a shower cubicle would have been a bit more convenient.

Finally, a number of guests - especially those directly above the bar and kitchen - reported that noise from below was a problem, especially during busy weekend nights.
