If you are happy with a little walking, then Sidney James Mountain Lodge is close enough to downtown Gatlinburg to be convenient. If you don't feel like a walk, then the trolley stops right in front of the hotel.

While the property is handily located, it is still far enough away from the main part of town to avoid any traffic noise, meaning you should get a good night's sleep. Indeed, if your room is facing the creek, you can fall asleep to the sounds of it. The view from this hotel is great as well. You might even see bears walking around.

Staff at this hotel are great. They will go out of their way to make sure you are having an enjoyable stay and will be friendly and helpful at all times. They can offer you some useful advice about the local area as well.

Internet access at Sidney James Mountain Lodge is a little temperamental to say the least. You can't always get online and, when you can, you might find the service to be slow and unresponsive.

This hotel feels quite old. It could do with a bit of a revamp. Some of the carpets are worn and stained and certain items of furniture are past their best.

While there are parking spaces available here, there isn't a huge amount of room for vehicles. The spaces seem very close together, making it something of a tight squeeze.
