Hotel Sandman Resort (Clearwater Beach, USA)

The hotel has an outdoor pool and on-site laundry facilities, and guests found the rooms to be clean and equipped with useful features such as air-conditioners, fridges, stoves, pots, pans and utensils. They noted that these small kitchenettes further helped cut down on bills throughout their stay, and guests staying in the two-bedroom units found them to be pleasantly spacious.

Guests noted that the hotel is situated only a four-minute walk from the beach and within easy walking distance of many restaurants. Downtown Clearwater, Largo and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium can be reached easily by car.

As guests stated, the front-desk staff was able to provide a pleasant and an efficient check-in experience, and the housekeeping staff was friendly and thorough.

While the hotel overall seems to be clean, it could stand to be maintained a bit better. Guests noted that the carpets should be replaced, the TVs are older models instead of flat-screen ones, the mattresses sag and are therefore rather uncomfortable and the rooms have a bit of a musty odor.

As several guests pointed out, the hotel seems to have some plumbing issues, since the water pressure is often not more than a drizzle and hot water cuts out sometimes, particularly in the early morning.

While guests enjoyed the overall comfort of the rooms especially given the price, a few guests pointed out that the older air-conditioning units were rather loud and disturbed their sleep a bit.
