Renovated and reopened in 2011, Regio offers simple, budget accommodation in the centre of Madrid. Main thoroughfare Gran Via is at the end of the road with its high-end shops and restaurants. The 14 smartly decorated rooms provide a television and a private bathroom with a shower. Temperatures remain comfortable thanks to the air-conditioner and heater; clean bedding and towels are offered daily. A lift allows guests easy access to the rooms and free Wi-Fi is provided. Regio also operates a reception during the day where guests can request shuttle and concierge services. Both in sight of the hostal, Puerto Rico restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes and sangria while Mu! El Placer De La Carne is the place for succulent steaks and other Argentinean meat dishes. A four-minute walk, Puerta del Sol square features landmarks such as the iconic Bear and the Strawberry Tree statue. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of mighty Real Madrid F.C., is a 40-minute metro journey.
