Excellent value for money
The issue of value for money seemed to come up quite a bit, with guests overwhelmingly feeling that they received very good value for this property in the notoriously expensive south-east.
Set in a repurposed, and exquisitely renovated, 17th century posting house, New Flying Horse Inn offers elegant modern accommodation atop a charming and lively pub. The rooms have been recently refurbished and are decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Each features en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, flat screen TV and tea/coffee station. The inn consists of the pub and the rooms above, and does not have, or need, many other public facilities. Staff are on hand to help with local information and offer other assistance as well. Serving Kentish Ales and local produce with pride, the New Flying Horse is a gastro-pub serving innovative, but still hearty, food. The Sunday lunches are especially popular. The inn is in the lovely village of Wye, just outside Ashford. Eurostar travellers will find the Ashford International Station a six-mile drive away.

It was hard, or rather impossible, to find a bad word written about the staff. They were described not only as very welcoming and helpful, but also as having a cheerful disposition that seemed to put everyone in a good mood.
This was perhaps what most impressed guests about the New Flying Horse Inn. They were unanimous in saying that the rooms were looking very good after their renovation.
Several guests mentioned being disturbed by the sound of the TV and other noise from the adjacent rooms. It appears there is no soundproofing between the rooms. This was said to be a particular problem in the annexe.
A couple of guests mentioned that, while the rooms upstairs were renovated and looked fantastic, the pub downstairs was certainly not in the same class. They say that it is looking rather drab and is in desperate need of a makeover.
A great many guests brought up the designated outdoor smoking area in their reviews. The gist of what they said was that they believed it was placed in a poor spot. It seems quite popular, and can generate a bit of noise. Being close to some of the rooms, this could of course disturb some guests, especially later at night.
