Accommodations in Canterbury near St Lawrence Ground (Canterbury, United Kingdom)
St Lawrence Ground (Canterbury, United Kingdom)
This is the home of Kent County Cricket Club and one of three grounds where Kent’s home matches are played. It is one of the oldest first class cricket grounds, dating back to 1847. Although not a test match ground, it has hosted one day international matches. It is also notable for being one of only two grounds which have a tree inside the boundary, and meant special rules had to be applied if the ball hit the tree. Unfortunately the original 200 year old tree blew down in 2005, but to retain this special feature a new tree was planted. The ground holds 15,000 spectators. There are car parking and catering facilities on site. For dates of fixtures see the website. On non-match days the ground is also available for hire for events and functions.
