While the lovely outdoor pool is the star of the show, business travelers may be more interested in the meeting rooms that are available for booking. Motorists will find ample free parking on-site. A basic breakfast consisting of continental staples, such as bread, cereals, fresh fruit and La Quinta’s signature waffles, which guests get to make themselves, is served every morning. Shoppers will find Park Place Mall right across the street. Those heading to Tampa will find it just 20 miles away.
A couple of guests mentioned that standard check-out time was quite a bit later than is typical. They certainly appreciated not having to be in a mad rush in the morning trying to get ready before having to check out.
It seems that it was the pet owners who were by far the happiest guest category. They loved that they and their pets were warmly welcomed at the hotel, not merely tolerated as a matter of policy. They also liked that they were not charged any more just because their pet was accompanying them.
Guests were generally satisfied that they did not really need to travel far in order to do their shopping or eat well.
A couple of guests staying in the standard rooms really missed these amenities. For the most part they were disappointed that they had no convenient way to keep their cold drinks cold or heat up a quick snack, but there were also guests who needed to keep insulin cool who had a hard time.
While guests found fault with the inside as well, they were especially critical of the outside of the property. It was said to be run down and in need of some major work in order to bring it up to a reasonable standard.
It was very hard to find a kind word written about the breakfast. Guests did appreciate that it was available and included in their room rate, but felt that it was far too basic. It was said to offer nothing at all to diabetics and those on gluten and low carb diets.
