Unsurprisingly, air passengers in particular welcomed this hotel's proximity to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, about three miles away. There was also a handy free 24-hour airport shuttle service. Non-motorists liked that they were walking distance from the nearest light rail station for trains around central Phoenix and the Sky Train station for an alternative method of reaching the airport terminal. Another bonus was the proximity of several eateries. Motorists appreciated the straightforward access to area attractions, sports venues, downtown Phoenix, shopping malls, golf courses and entertainment districts.

Guests liked the well-equipped rooms, often saying they weren't fancy but were bright and colorful and more than satisfactorily spacious, clean and comfortable for the needs of most budget-conscious travelers. Freebies like parking and the continental breakfast buffet were a bonus, although some diners criticized the lack of variety on the menu in the mornings. The usually affordable room rates prompted plenty of reviewers to say their stays represented decent value for money.
