Its position right next to the Gare de Lyon train station was regularly highlighted as an advantage, while the hotel is also within walking distance of popular attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral and Place des Vosges.
The staff members were, despite a small amount of negative comments, commended by former guests that stayed at the hotel. Along with a friendly and helpful manner, the accommodation's personnel were categorised as generally having a good command of the English language.
In most cases, previous guests were pleased with the hygiene standards on display at the Helvetia Hotel. The rooms and en-suite spaces were typically described as clean and tidy.
The basicness of the Helvetia Hotel was disappointing for numerous past visitors. As well as a lack of public facilities such as a bar or fitness centre, the hotel's rooms have also been labelled as excessively basic with a restricted amount of amenities.
