The guest rooms at Gulf Strand Resort have recently been updated to feature modern and comfortable beds and furnishings. Guests also reported that the rooms are very clean, the decor is tasteful, the kitchen is well-stocked, everything is in working order, the bathrooms are luxurious and spacious and everything is very well-maintained. .

This hotel is located in a fabulous location at the quiet south end of St. Pete Beach where there are less crowds. Guests have direct access to a relaxing section of beach but despite the feel of seclusion, everything, including restaurants, attractions and retail shops, are within walking distance.

Guests reported that the outside grounds of the hotel are exceptionally well-maintained and so are the facilities. The swimming pool is clean, warm and refreshing and the hot tub is also clean and well-maintained.

Guests reported that the views around Gulf Strand Resort are not as nice as they look on the website. In fact, the view that is advertised is virtually non-existent from most of the rooms. .

Staff members at this hotel don't like to deal with issues and guests reported that problems with rooms go unresolved. Staff who take the time to deal with guests become defensive when complaints are made and automatically blame guests first. Also reported was staff who are not very knowledgeable about the hotel or the area and staff who are rude and seem to dislike talking to guests. .

Guests reported that the Wi-Fi service is very slow around the hotel and it doesn't work at all in the guest rooms. .
