Hotel Brooklands (Bowness-on-Windermere, United Kingdom)

Guests felt that Brooklands had hospitality to spare. The owners were found to be welcoming, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about the local area. One of the things that guests might have liked best, was the useful information and tips provided for what to do in Lake District National Park.

While some guests complained of small portions, most were happy with the hot and tasty English breakfast. Guests also felt that asking for seconds would have been swiftly accommodated by the gracious hosts. Whether a picky eater, vegetarian, or someone who likes to eat lightly, there is something for everyone at Brooklands.

Several guests were pleased with how easily they fell asleep on the quality mattresses. No sagging beds or squeaky springs here.

A few guests thought that Brooklands was farther from Bowness-on-Windermere than they expected. Adding to the inconvenience, guests found that the road to town was without a foot path and unlit at night. On the plus side, guests like that this B&B was still relatively close to town, but away from tourist noise.

Some guests complained of tight parking. It seems that parking can be hard to maneuver at times, and guests who arrived first were sometimes wedged in.

If you are expecting a spacious, immaculately decorated, cookie cutter room, guests said that you will probably need to look elsewhere. Rooms were generally found to be comfortable, but were also found to be in need of a refresh. Tiny bathrooms with shower doors that were hard to close also took away from the otherwise pleasant stay that guests experienced.
