Cheerful staff were helpful and friendly, according to guests. From the waiters in the restaurant, to front desk staff, everyone at Artus was found to be skilled at customer service.
Guests were amazed at the excellent location of Artus. They knew to expect a central location, but couldn't believe their luck when they discovered that almost everything they wanted to see was so accessible. Both the Solidarity Museum and the National Maritime Museum were easy to get to, and guests loved that the hotel was ten minutes from the train station, with a 24-hour convenience store across the street.
While some found it charming, several guests took issue with the relentless church bells coming from St. Mary's church directly across the street. Guests claimed that the bells started quite early, and chimed for several minutes on the hour. Some would have also preferred not to hear noise from late night revellers, so you might want to ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
During the warmer months, a few guests felt too hot in their rooms. Lack of air-conditioning was a problem for those that like it on the cooler side, and some guests expressed disappointment with an uncomfortable sleep. On the plus side, Artus does have windows that open, so keep your fingers crossed for a breeze.
Guests who reserved the least expensive rooms found them to be smaller than expected. A few said that they would have liked a little extra leg room and a larger bathroom, and advised potential guests to pay a bit more for some extra space.
