You can easily walk to a number of popular places including Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. Forget the car; it's much more relaxing to walk.

The food is appetizing at both breakfast and dinner and the service is excellent. Seafood is a real specialty at dinner. Rooms are in good order and nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Outside, the infinity pool is amazing and overlooks the ocean. On the main beach, the sand is whiter than white.

The heat gets unbearable as the day wears on. Air conditioning can't cope. These salt flats have dreadful smells and millions of mosquitoes.

The rooms are in cabins which is OK from the noise angle. Windows, though, are floor to ceiling and metal framed; not the best material with the sun beating down. Rooms are certainly not lavish and there are cleanliness issues that need addressing. In fact, the hotel is acceptable only as a holiday base. If you are looking for comfort, cosseting and an element of luxury; it doesn't fit the bill at all.

The saving grace is that the sunsets are to die for. However, the beach in front of the infinity pool is muddy and not suited to any swimming activity. Service in the restaurant is poor; food is average .. but very salty. Customer service in general - and night time security personnel in particular - is overdue for a refresher course.
