Das Wachsmuseum liegt am Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Es handelt sich um eines der grössten Wachsfigurenkabinette der Welt und ist nicht weit entfernt vom Pier 39 oder auch dem Pier 45, von wo aus die Fähren nach Alcatraz fahren. Erreichen kann man es mit diversen Bus- oder Strassenbahnlinien. In der näheren Umgebung gibt es aber auch ein Parkhaus. Über 250 verschiedene Figuren aus Wachs kann man im Museum bestaunen. Vom letzten Abendmahl mit Jesus über Einstein und bekannte Maler, Schauspieler oder Popstars. Darunter sind beispielsweise Britney Spears, George Clooney, Brad Pitt und Angelina Jolie. Daneben gibt es auch ein Gruselkabinett. Geöffnet ist das Wachsmuseum täglich von 10-21 Uhr. An Feiertagen ändern sich diese möglicherweise, daher sollte man vorher dort anrufen und die Öffnungszeiten erfragen.
