Sakip Sabanci Museum (Istanbul, Turkey)

Situated on the Boshoporus you will find the great house of Sabanci (Atli Kösk). The gardens offer views of the river and have a number of statues. The museum was opened in 2002 and exhibits include bronze statutes of the Sabanci family, their porcelain and furnishings from the 18th and 19th centuries. Hundreds of items of calligraphic art are also exhibited. There is ample parking, a cafe and souvenir shop and also the gallery which houses works by Turkish artists. Temporary exhibitions have included works by Picasso and Rodin and at present you can view “Cengizhan ve Mirascilari” exhibitions. The museum is closed on Mondays, open from 11h00 to 21h00 on Wednesdays and on other days from 10h00 to 18h00. The museum can also be reached by using Bus No T40 from Taxim Square.
