Panorama 1453 (Istanbul, Turkey)

Panorama 1453 is a museum in Istanbul devoted to the Conquest of Constantinople. It opened on 31 January 2009 and is located at the exact place where the Ottoman army breached the city wall and entered Constantinople in 1453. The capture of Constantinople was the end of the Roman Empire and gave to Sultan Mehmet II title the Conqueror (Fatih). The museum shows the fall of Constantinople in an area of 3,000 sq. m. and in 3D surrounding images. Visitors can see Fatih Sultan Mehmet II with his army, the guns and the city walls. Some of the images are drawn and the others are models and there are added sound effects. The museum is open every day from 9am 7pm. The price is 10 TL for foreign visitors.
