Izutuzu Beach is also known as Turtle Beach due to the endangered Caretta Turtle that lays its eggs eggs there. This Turtle is also known as the Loggerhead Turtle. This beach has fresh water from the River Dalyan on one side of it and the Mediterranean sea on the other. It can reached by boat from the village of Dalyan which costs 5 Turkish Lira for a return (2007) or by Dolmus at the same cost. This beach stretches for about 6km. It is closed during the evening so the turtles are not disturbed while laying eggs.
