Kaunos (Dalyan, Turkey)

Kaunos or Caunos is an ancient city that can be reached by rowing boat from the village of Dalyan. A 20 minute walk will take you to the entrance, the entrance fee is 10 Turkish Lira per person (2007). Signs around the ruins give a description of what the buildings were and pictures show what they could have looked like. The city includes a fortress, acropolis and mosque to name a few. Views from Kaunos look over Dalyan village and the Dalyan river winding towards Iztuzu beach.
