CUM (Sofia, Bulgaria)

CUM in Sofia is the Bulgarian abbreviation of “Central Department Store”. The building was designed in 1956 and is built in the style of other buildings around it (Presidium, Government and the Sheraton hotel). At that time CUM was the largest shopping centre in the Balkans and the only one of its kind. CUM is located on “Maria Luiza” 2, in the very heart of Sofia, close to the metro station “Serdica” and directly in front of the Sheraton hotel. The store was renovated and modernised in 2000. The building has 6 floors with shops on an area of 19,000 square metres and offices on 3 floors covering an area of over 11,000 square metres. CUM hosts many shops of world-wide brands, cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, and a bank as well as a children’s playground offering hourly childcare. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10 to 21h Sunday 11 to 20h
