It’s an endurance ride from Wanganui to Taupo and more, the Central Plateau Scooter Challenge takes you and your scooter on a great adventure. Crossing the summit of the Rangipo Desert, the journey of over 270kms is designed to raise funds for Hospice Wanganui. The event goes ahead regardless of weather and for those who are truely dedicated there’s a small number who will make the ride back the next day. Entry is free all you need to do to partake is fundraise a minimum of $20. The Challenge is not a race – it is an attempt to raise awareness and raise funds for the patients and families in Hospice Wanganui.
