Burghausen Castle (Burghausen, Germany)

Burghausen Castle has a length of slightly more than 1 km and as such is the longest European castle. The first building dates from 600 AD and the current castle, built largely in 1255, features 6 moated courtyards and offers visitors a selection of concerts and events as well as two museums which exhibit 15th century art. Visitors can also view the castle chapel which is dedicated to St Elisabeth. The castle is open daily from 09h00 to 18h00 (April to September) and from 10h00 to 16h00 (October to March). Please note that disabled access is limited. Facilities include a cafe.
