Set in a 300-year old Building, the The Smugglers Haunt Hotel is a bed and breakfast steeped in history, and full of character features. Both twin and family rooms are available and, while most come equipped with hairdryers and boast features such as beams and feature fireplaces, all have a telephone, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The non-smoking hotel offers free Wi-Fi, and public parking is available nearby. Breakfast comes in the form of a Full English and, in the evenings, guests can sample one of Brixham's exceptional eateries. Two of the most highly regarded are Claws Indoors; specialising in fresh fish and seafood- a four-minute walk, and Lytehouse; a tapas and wine bar- a two-minute walk from The Smugglers Haunt Hotel. Brixham's fishing port and marina are a seven-minute walk away, the family-friendly beaches of Breakwater and Shoalstone are within easy reach, and Dartmoor National Park is a 20-minute drive away.

Steeping inside the quirky building, it is easy to imagine you are back in the days when smugglers roamed the narrow corridors and winding staircases. Creaking floors, beamed ceilings and paintings of the local area only add to the olde-worlde charm.
Previous guests have been pleasantly surprised by Brixham; the harbour area is idyllic, there are plenty of independent shops and, come night-time, the streets come alive with restaurants and bars.
For many guests, the best thing about the Smugglers Haunt is the service. The owners are warm, welcoming and happy to share their local knowledge.
Smugglers Haunt does not have its own car park and, as such, guests will have to find a spot in one of the public car parks nearby. Special rates for overnight parking are given, however, during the day, when Brixham is busy with day tourists, spaces are few and far between.
Formerly a pub, food and drink provisions have been halted, as of late, for owners to concentrate their attentions on the accommodation element of the business. The bar is, therefore, utilised only at breakfast time and this, combined with the lack of Wi-Fi in all but the bar, has left some guests feeling that the bed and breakfast is lacking in facilities.
Given its prominent Village location it is, perhaps, unsurprising that there is some level of noise disturbance. Late night-revellers returning home on the weekends are usually the source of the noise, but they tend to only pass through so any disturbance caused is fleeting.
