The hotel’s exterior has been described as imposing and grand whilst many guests were also complimentary about the communal rooms, particularly the lovely reception area complete with a double height ceiling and a sweeping staircase.
Guests were complimentary of the size of their rooms stating that they felt light and airy with plenty of storage space for stowing away their belongings. The rooms were equipped with all the necessary amenities required for a comfortable stay including fridges, air-conditioning units and branded complimentary toiletries.
The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of Weybridge with its many shops, bars and cafes. Guests were also pleased to find several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, convenient for those who wanted to dine out. Many used the hotel as a base for visiting local attractions such as Hampton Court and Chessingtons.
Quite a few guests criticised the waiting staff for being too slow and inattentive. Guests were kept waiting for a long time to receive their dishes and some had to get up from their table and go in search of the staff. Many also objected to the disorganised and slow service at breakfast time when guests struggled to find members of staff.
The hotel is often used as a venue for wedding receptions which inconvenienced some guests who objected to not being able to use the bar and the restaurant as these were taken over by the wedding party.
Some guests complained about not being able to use the shower as there was no hot water whilst others struggled to control the temperature and said that the water was coming out scolding hot.
