Moorings Hotel (Fort William, United Kingdom)

Mooring’s rooms were found to be nice, clean and spacious and some were considered to have great views of Ben Nevis and Neptune’s Staircase.

Guests found the breakfast offering of continental and full Scottish fare to be great to kick off the day, also appreciated having a decent restaurant and bar, and approved of the welcoming staff members, who proved helpful and also dog-friendly.

Although the hotel’s location on the Caledonian Canal was great for checking out the Neptune’s Staircase elevation locks for ships, people also found it handy to Fort William and a good base for exploring further or walking in the area.

Certain rooms at Moorings were considered to be a decent trek to get to by a few guests, and likewise, others found the hotel to be a bit far outside Fort William for their liking and transport means.

A small number of guests have mentioned that they believe the hotel needs some updating and modernising, although it was mentioned that some construction appears to be going on in mid-2015. Likewise, a few guests found it to be a little expensive, and a handful of others were not so happy with the quality of the food from the bistro.
