Hotel Whitney Inn & Suites (Hamden, USA)

By the time many guests arrive at their room, their expectations have nose-dived. Their despondent feeling often transforms into amazement, however, when they step inside. The recently renovated rooms are nice and spacious and above all surprisingly clean. The modern feel is intensified with brand new bathroom fittings, TVs, microwaves and fridges. Even the beds are comfortable! Many end up feeling they have made a great value for money discovery!

The hotel is ideally located for anyone visiting friends or relations at Quinnipiac University campus nearby. The freeway is also within easy reach and there is a nice heritage trail behind.

The staff are, more often than not, found to be friendly and helpful. Guests comment on their smiling and cheerful demeanors.

The hotel is just off a very busy highway and many guests complain that they have difficulty sleeping because of the constant traffic noise.

Many guests get a fright when they turn up outside the hotel. Far from what many had been led to expect on the website, the building is old and looked run-down. Things don't improve for guests brave enough to venture in either. There is no elevator and the place feels dirty. The worst part being the carpets, which are stained and in desperate need of a deep-clean – if not to be completely replaced.

Guests frequently detect musty or moldy odors in the room. In certain cases this is covered up by the overpowering smell of what seems to be air fresheners. However it is the lobby and the hallways that appear to have the worst stenches and the smell alone makes many guests feel like fleeing straight away.
