About The Shirley
The Shirley is a bed and breakfast set in an old Victorian villa in the heart of Torquay, South Devon. With the 11 bedroom guest house, guests have a choice of rooms: Smaller Double, Standard Double, Superior Double and Superior Plus Double. Alternatively there’s the Family En-suite. All rooms have an en-suite with free toiletries, TV and DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and free Wi-Fi throughout the rooms and public areas. The hotel has an outdoor pool for use in the summer and a terrace space as well as a spacious indoor lounge area. The hotel does not accept stag or hen parties or young farmers. Guests can enjoy a mix of hot English, Canadian or continental breakfast with locally sourced produce. The licensed bar is available to serve drinks throughout the afternoon and evening. Located in the centre of Torquay the Shirley is close to both the Babbacombe and Princess Theatres or take a stroll along the beachside.

The hotel is on a hill which some guests said was quite steep. While this is not the fault of the hotel’s, it is worth mentioning as it may make it difficult for guests with limited mobility or the elderly. Similarly there are steep stairs to the hotel’s
