The Lairg is a beautiful, 3-star Georgian hotel found amongst Haymarket’s bars and restaurants, a 10-minute walk from the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Dean Village, the Shopping of Princes Street, and National Galleries are all within a 15-minute walk and the Edinburgh Old Town, Waverley Station and Edinburgh Castle are less than 1.4 miles away. All 20 rooms have private bathrooms, TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryer and some feature four-poster beds. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas and public parking is available nearby. Traditional Scottish breakfasts are served every morning in the elegant breakfast room, and further dining options are easy to find in the area around The Lairg. The Haymarket Train Station is a four-minute walk away, a bus stop is right outside and Murrayfield Station can be reached by foot in 20 minutes.

Although The Lairg is fairly central, meaning those who wish to do so can walk into downtown Edinburgh’s attractions, it is also located on a downtown bus and tram route, and very close to the Haymarket Railway Station.
The polite and friendly staff at this hotel will be happy to talk you through the attractions and eateries of Edinburgh, and likewise, will fix you a tasty and filling meal of the morning.
Guests were very happy with the renovated rooms at The Lairg, which were extremely clean, spacious and found to have excellent, modern en-suite facilities.
You may find the on-street parking availability nearby to be limited, and if you are not able to find something, the nearest car park is a decent walk away — the one major gripe anyone had about staying here.
Although the free Wi-Fi is only meant to cover the hotel’s common areas, a few guests were disappointed to find a very weak signal in their rooms.
