Just fourteen miles from Heathrow Airport, near M25, this cosy spot is back from the bustle with a lovely view of the countryside within an easy ten-minute drive of Amersham. Plenty of parking with lovely period features throughout including exposed beam ceilings, a real log fireplace and a summer garden area. An interesting assortment of menus is available and there's something for everyone. Sunday Lunch is quite popular and filling, and the stuffed chicken breast, brie pie, sweet potato chips and desserts are highly recommended. Breakfast is made to order and there is even live music some evenings. A superb value.

The rooms are pleasantly arranged with comfortable beds, good bathrooms and excellent showers.

The service is outstanding and staff typically goes above and beyond for your comfort from arrival to departure.

The Wi-Fi is hit or miss, often failing to connect adequately in the rooms.

The rooms are above the pub, so you'll hear the voices and/or performances until they close up for the night - and then sometimes you'll hear them cleaning up and moving furniture after that. Noise from the road out front has been a problem as well. Bring your earplugs.

Some might feel the rooms are too small for their preferences- some had to rearrange furniture to move around comfortably. Others may not like the temperature as some rooms are too hot and some too cold without sufficient remedy even after staff was notified.
