Rooms at this inn are located in several Tudor-style houses and are individually decorated in keeping with their surroundings. All rooms offer amenities such as seating area with flat-screen TV, hairdryer, private bathroom, and ironing facilities. Select suites feature canopy beds and fireplaces. A picnic area is located in the garden while other amenities include a front desk, luggage storage, meeting facilities, and wedding services. There were quite a few complaints about the state of the gardens and the rooms but thankfully the owners have listened to their guests, and now they have remedied the situation. The place is now in excellent condition.
You won't feel like you're a stone's throw from the busy harbor or a short drive from the city in this wonderful setting. The wooded gardens make for a lovely walk in the morning and eating breakfast on the terrace is a joy.
The people that work here really do go the extra mile to help out their guests. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and are more than willing to help out in any way that they can. Truly excellent customer service.
This is an old place and as such there are some areas that need to be taken care of more so than at a modern hotel. Some floorboards could be replaced, and the garden could be a bit tidier. However, it seems that the owners are planning to do just that in the near future.
