Hotel Rialto (Victoria, Canada)

Rialto is environmentally conscious and a 4 Green Key property. They encourage their guests to participate in their 'Go Green' program, which asks guests to decline room service. In return, you will receive a gift voucher for one of their restaurants for every day you decline.

Both Veneto Tapa Lounge and Cafe Veneto receive a lot of praise. The breakfasts are fresh-made, delicious and filling. Bartenders make unique cocktails and are a pleasure to watch. Remembr, you will receive a welcome coupon for an appetizer at Veneto Tapa Lounge upon check-in, and a breakfast voucher at Cafe Veneto for every night you stay.

Situated in downtown Victoria, the hotel is in a perfect location to explore the city, both by foot and by bike. The Port and the Pacific Ocean are both walking distance. If you're looking to explore by bike, Rialto offers a few for rent.

While not an unusual problem for living in downtown, several guests complained about city street noise and the humming traffic. A few guests also mentioned hearing music from the bar downstairs at night, but their room was directly above it. If you're a sensitive sleeper, it's a good idea to request an inside room, away from the street and to bring earplugs as a precaution.

Guests were a bit bothered by the lack of hooks and towel rods in the bathroom. This made it a bit inconvenient to participate in the "Go Green" challenge, as it requires you to reuse your towels.

The hotel does not have its own lot and street parking is limited. The staff does have a list of recommended lots nearby, which can be a couple blocks away, if the rest are full. The staff is also happy to give parking tips. For example, street parking is free on Sunday.
