Dog friendly.

Pet dogs are made welcome here and the nearby Rodborough Common is great dog walking territory.

Great leisure and business hotel.

Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Cirencester etc; are all within easy reach, making the hotel an ideal base for tourists and business guests. In the case of the latter, the hotel has good conference and meeting facilities.

All staff are very friendly, efficient and eager to impart local knowledge so that you enjoy your visit to Gloucestershire to the maximum. Food is terrific and so is the service.

Authentic charm is all well and good but, in pursuit of this, hotel maintenance has been sacrificed. It’s looking a bit tired and in need of a revamp. Maintenance that has been carried out has been in a haphazard, botched sort of way. Wi-Fi is unreliabl

Main road noise.

The hotel is right on a main road and night time noise is noticeable, particularly during the summer when, in the absence of air conditioning, it’s essential to have bedroom windows open.

Iffy food.

Breakfast isn’t worth the effort and there are times when evening catering is surprisingly sub-standard. As for the cost … well, take a deep breath.
