The hotel is located in a very quiet area and is surrounded by 2 acres of gardens which provide a very relaxing and scenic backdrop. Guests said that they enjoyed spending time on the terrace or walking around the gardens which feature lovely ornaments and sculpture. Many also said that the views of the bay from their windows were breathtaking and possible the highlight of their stay.
Guests were very complimentary about the decor of their rooms which they said was stylish and tasteful with quality upholstery and furniture. The well-appointed rooms were matched with equally modern and nice bathrooms.
There are two dining options at the hotel with the restaurant offering a fine dining experience and the brasserie a more relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. The food served at both the restaurant and brasserie was said to be fresh and very tasty and the coked breakfasts were also highly praised by many.
Some guests who wanted to connect to the internet were disappointed to find that the Wi-Fi signal was very weak and intermittent. This however seems to affect the whole area where the hotel is situated as the phone signal is also said to be patchy.
The showers have been described as modern and clean however, quite a few guests said that they had to wait for a while in order to get hot water whilst others said that the pressure was too low.
The hotel is said to be dog-friendly yet some guests objected to the fact that dogs were allowed in the communal areas such as the bar and the conservatory dining room and voiced their concerns relating to hygiene issues.
