Hotel Strenneth (Diss, United Kingdom)

This is a charming venue on lovely countryside greenery. Although the decor isn't all brand new, the accommodations are comfortable and homely enough to make up for it. Plenty of information is available for guest perusal about the nearby attractions and touring the area. The best part is the substantial breakfast - freshly-made apple juice, home-made jams and lots of locally-sourced ingredients in the items on the table. Dinner is equally delicious when requested ahead of time, served piping hot in the cosy dining room.  An excellent value overall.

Clean and well-equipped rooms provide all the expected amenities. Units with four-poster beds are delightful and highly recommended if you can spare the extra fee, and the self-catering cottages are convenient and spacious.

Warm and welcoming hosts are helpful, friendly, always willing to give suggestions on the area and go out of their way to ensure your comfort. Don't be surprised if they greet you with hot tea and snacks - even if you're arriving late.

Some have found the single rooms to be quite a bit smaller than expected. Get clarity on square footage at booking.

This is a somewhat remote locale, which most find adds to its country charm. However, if you're worried about constant internet or mobile phone reception is a must for you, choose elsewhere.

It can take a short while for the water to heat up, especially on mornings when several folks need to shower at once.
