Accommodations in Lowestoft near South Pier (Lowestoft, United Kingdom)

South Pier (Lowestoft, United Kingdom)

The South Pier in Lowestoft dates back to 1846 and measures 1320 feet. It replaces an earlier pier of 1831 that was part of a set of two 500ft long piers and part of the harbour of the town. The South Pier and its buildings was damaged during WW2 and the entertainment centre that it houses today was built during the 1970’s. Visitors can enjoy family entertainment that includes gaming machines and video games, a bar with live entertainment, restaurant, bowling, several fast food outlets and shops. Outside seating is available and the pier is also home to the historic ships of Lowestoft’s Liveboat Station. The award wining blue flag beach of the town is situated directly at the pier and the East Pavilion with the Tourist Information Centre can be found just metres away. Parking facilities can be found in easy walking distance but fees might apply.
