For soaking up the high culture and superb shopping that central Vienna has to offer, you really won't find a better location than the Royal offers. You can walk to many of the major attractions, and the roof terrace offers splendid city views.

Considering that the breakfast is included in the room rate, the selection and quality couldn't be better. It's served in the elegant ground-floor restaurant, and guests love it, so enjoy a hearty meal to fuel your day.

It seems that nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, from the housekeeping team who do a superb job, to the multilingual front desk staff who will do their best to meet your every whim.

While some items of furniture are original, prized pieces, some guests find that other elements of the decor and furnishings are just a bit outdated, and in need of modernisation.

Whether you like a hard or soft mattress and pillows is clearly a subjective thing, but some guests find that the beds here are particularly hard. The staff can often provide alternative bedding, so let them know if you're not comfortable.

It's a minor thing, but you can't make your own cuppa in the room. The absence of a tea tray is particularly noticeable, since everything else has been thought of.
