Hotel Riad Viva (Marrakech, Morocco)

The rooms at Riad Viva are quite large and are exquisitely-decorated with lovely and comfortable furnishings. Guests also reported that the rooms are very clean, the air conditioning is always working, the beds are comfortable and the Wi-Fi always works.

Guests reported that from the time they arrived to the time they left, staff was attentive to all their needs. Check-in is quick and informative, staff seem genuinely interested in guests' needs, issues are resolved quickly and apologies and incentives are offered when things go wrong and they have no problem providing suggestions on things to do and making bookings.

Riad Viva is situated on a small, quiet street that's far enough away from the tourist areas to be relaxing but close enough to easily access the top sites. It's an excellent base from which to explore the city and surrounding area and get a taste of everyday Moroccan life.

Guests reported that the meals served at Riad Viva are bland by Moroccan standards and the same things are served every day. The choices are limited and the items that are available are poorly-prepared with soggy cooked vegetables, overcooked meat, no accompanying appetizers, and hot items served cold.

The rooms at this hotel are small and cramped and guests reported some other issues including tattered sheets and blankets, a strange smell coming from the bathroom, small windows, a lack of soundproofing, slow Wi-Fi, uncomfortable beds and loud air conditioning units.

Much of the staff is very young and experienced and it shows in the unprofessional manner they deal with guests. Issues go unresolved, problems are passed off to other staff members and much of the staff is unknowledgeable about the hotel and the surrounding area.
